The Primum Familiae Vini group of winery owners, which includes Châteaux Mouton Rothschild and Haut-Brion, as well as Vega Sicilia and Sassicaia among others, has launched an annual sustainability prize of €100,000 for family companies in any business sector.
The 12 Winery families of the Primum Familiae Vini (PFV) group said they had launched a € 100,000 sustainability prize to support other family businesses around the world. Family companies are a ‘critical part of the global economy’, the group said, adding that they will award the annual PFV Award to the best company that demonstrates excellence in sustainability, innovation, craftsmanship, and the successful transmission of responsibility and commitment from one generation to another.
According to the news on the Decanter, Marc Perrin, president of the PFV and co-owner with his family of Château de Beaucastel, said, “The best family enterprises have a profound commitment to sustainable development and to the environment. By announcing this prize at a time of international crisis resulting from Covid-19, we emphasise the long-term thinking of family companies and our inherent optimism about the future, providing we defend the right values.” Applications for the PFV prize 2020 will start online from July 1 and end on October 30, 2020.
