Construction of the world’s first gold-coated hotel in Hanoi, Vietnam, is expected to be completed next year to coincide with Formula 1.

Although gold-plated rooms or room accessories are nothing new in the hospitality industry, Hanoi’s Golden Lake Hotel, whose exterior will be covered with gold tiles, will be the first in this sense. Located on the banks of Giang Vo Lake in Ba Dinh district, the hotel will not only have an exterior but also a lot of construction materials and furniture, as well as cutlery and dining sets. Nguyen Huu Duong, general director of Hoa Binh Group which is developing the 400-room hotel, proudly claims that Hanoi Golden Lake would become the world’s first hotel having its facade gold-plated. Another highlight of the hotel will be its rooftop gold-plated infinity pool.
