The barometer, which Michelin Guide tracks the development of starred restaurants during the pandemic process, observed a big decrease in the number of open restaurants in the 45th week.

The re-emergence of restrictions on the hospitality sector due to the increase in COVID-19 cases points to the second time of struggle for the restaurant industry worldwide. In the barometer, which Michelin Guide has observed starred restaurants since May, a significant decrease was observed in the 45th week. The number of open restaurants in Northern Europe dropped from 74% to 18%, creating an alarming picture. The number of open restaurants in Southern Europe has changed less, from 66% to 40%.

While there has been a slight decline in America, Asian restaurants, 96% of which are open, remain steady.
