World-renowned 2 Michelin-starred chef Tom Kerridge has created a children’s tasting menu through Uber Eats to improve children’s sense of taste and help children discover new flavours during a second quarantine process.

“Tiny Tasting Menu”, designed to introduce new flavours to children in a “both fun and delicious” way and will be completely free except for a small delivery fee, will be a 5-service adventurous menu with dishes such as truffle cheese toasties, avruga caviar and smoked mashed potatoes. The new menu, the first hot food distribution initiative of the successful chef Kerridge, who is behind the 2 Michelin-starred Hand & Flowers, enables children to discover new flavours and becomes a saviour for parents who want their children to eat healthier and more adventurous.

Tiny Tasting Menu aims to introduce flavours to children, such as sprouts (49% never tasted) or gherkins (61%). “I was surprised to see how few children are adventurous when it comes to trying new foods, so I wanted to create a menu that will hopefully help parents introduce them to try new flavours,” says Kerridge.

“Eating together as a family is so important, and it’s even more meaningful when the kids can feel grown-up by eating the same things as mum and dad. While we normally think of tasting menus as being really expensive, we wanted to offer this for free so that parents with all budgets can try these delicious dishes with their children.”

Uber Eats stated that it has partnered with Tom Kerridge after a national survey of 1,000 parents showed that 84% of parents were struggling to try new foods for their children.

While only 24% of the parents of children in the 6-14 age group defined their children as adventurous about eating; 12% of parents admit that their children do not eat vegetables.
