Chef Tom Aikens is opening his new restaurant on the 62th floor of the new Langham Hotel in Jakarta. Tom’s, which will bring European cuisine to Jakarta, will open its doors in September.
Having an open kitchen concept, Tom’s offers its guests an a la carte menu with Himalayan salted grills, buratta and desserts, as well as champagne and coctails. Seasonal seafood also has an important place in the restaurant, which will feature roast beef flavours on weekends. On the rooftop of the 223-bedroom Langham, there will be an eco-garden to be used fort he restaurant. Head chef Giles Langford, who initially studied agriculture and horticulture and was trained by Aikens at his Chelsea restaurant, will oversee this private garden. Aikens, who runs the Michelin starred Muse in London and several market at the Edition Hotel in Abu Dhabi, says that in their new restaurant, the product is the hero and they use a superior cooking technique.
