If you’re looking for an elegant and creative British fine-dining experience that offers a six course surprise menu, look no further than the Tailors Restaurant in Warwick, located 20 minutes away from Coventry. The restaurant building was originally a men’s tailor shop for over a century in Warwick’s historic Market Place.
Tailors encompasses smart, rustic interior features with stripped wooden floors, an old brick fireplace and vintage sewing machines. It has been Michelin Recommended since 2010, have had two AA Rosettes since 2014 and were finalists in the Midlands Food and Drink Awards in 2019.
It is owned and run by chefs Dan Cavell and Mark Fry, who aim to create quality tasting menus using locally sourced and foraged ingredients. They focus on a 6 course surprise menu, with dishes showcasing a variety of textures and flavours.
Each dish is developed to play on guests’ visual, taste and emotional senses. Dan and Mark take inspiration from the day’s available ingredients to present classic recipes with a contemporary twist to leave guests wanting more.
Dan said on their website: “I am very passionate about food and cooking, and when people join us at ‘Tailors’ they will see that in the dishes we prepare. We want people to enjoy the experience of our restaurant and go away eager to come back for more.”
Mark Fry added: “We feel ‘Tailors Restaurant’ is somewhere people can come and enjoy good food and wine in a relaxed atmosphere. We work hard everyday to provide the best quality food with the best quality ingredients and our customers will see this in all our menu’s.”
