The government has announced that foreign visitors to Spain will no longer have to undergo a two-week quarantine from July 1.

Foreign Minister Arancha Gonzalez Laya had earlier said the quarantine requirement would be lifted in July, without giving a date. Spain usually attracts 80 million tourists a year, with the industry accounting for more than 12 per cent of the country ‘s GDP. Therefore, the reopening of the holiday market before the end of the summer season is seen as very important for the Spanish economy. As the UK prepares to implement its 14-day quarantine policy from 8 June, travel companies and the subsidiaries of tourism have asked for measures to be relieved for tourists coming to the UK from places where the risk of the virus is low after the news from Spain, reported BBC.
