Sardine, which is listed among the UK’s top restaurants, has announced its closure permanently due to coronavirus.

Today’s announcement thanked its employees, guests and suppliers for all their support, and said they were very sorry to close their doors permanently. It said: “Sadly, despite government support and an understanding landlord, we are unable to see a path to reopening. For our small space, any kind of social distancing would be very difficult to implement and we do not have the resources to trade the inevitably difficult times ahead.” Sardine, which would have been four years old on 5 July, said they are focusing on different business methods such as delivery and gel-al in the hope of reopening, Big Hospitality reported.
