The World’s 50 Best Restaurants has awarded the title of Latin America’s Best Female Chef for 2020 to chef and food activist Narda Lepes of Narda Comedor, Buenos Aires.
In Narda Comedor, Lepes challenges the meat and especially beef that are quite dominant in Argentine cuisine, emphasizing vegetables and seasonal ingredients such as cauliflower, onions and legumes, and uses meat and broth as a supporting. The successful chef Lepes, who defies traditions with his vegetable-focused dishes in the cuisine of a country famous for its beef, deserves the title of Best Female Chef in Latin America 2020. This great success will be announced to the whole world at the virtual event of Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants 2020, sponsored by S.Pellegrino & Acqua Panna, on 3 December.
A household name in Argentina, Lepes started her career in Paris, where she led two Japanese-inspired restaurants. Besides her career as a chef, Lepes, a television producer, was a jury member in MasterChef Argentina and is also a successful writer with her published books.
