Three Michelin-starred restaurant The French Laundry received a total of $2.4 million within the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), allocated for small businesses in the United States.
An ABC7 analysis states that renowned chef Thomas Keller’s restaurant, The French Laundry, received a loan that is 17 times higher compared to other restaurants of the area. The loans were used to keep staff members employed and maintain the service quality during the COVID-19 crisis.
According to a statement in Thomas Keller’s website, The French Laundry will be closed from December 18th for a minimum of 3 weeks in line with COVID-19 measures implemented in California.
