Seafood chef and restaurateur Laurent Manrique joined Scott’s Chowder House, a branch of Scott’s Seafood founded in San Francisco in 1976. The arrival of Manrique, who has promoted luxury seafood restaurant Aqua to Michelin-starred rankings three years in a row, has already excited Scott’s Chowder regulars.
Laurent Manrique, co-owner of Cafe de la Presse in San Francisco, has promoted the luxury seafood restaurant Aqua to Michelin-starred rankings for three consecutive years after taking over the management of Aqua in 2003. Now, Manrique becomes Scott’s Chowder’s culinary adviser and shares the restaurant’s owner Steve Mayer and executive chef Sammy Reyes’ dream of offering fresh seafood in more casual and less expensive setting. “I’m delighted to join Steve and Sammy in creating a comfortable and welcoming eatery that offers great seafood in a great setting at a great price,” says Manrique.
Enriching its menu with soups, bread rolls and salads, as well as beer and wine options, Scott’s Chowder House also offers takeaway service to its customers. Scott’s Chowder House, which opened its first location in San Jose in November 2020, is opening its second location in Market Square in the San Jose area this week. Future outlets are set for Palo Alto and San Francisco.
