Renowned chef José Andrés is preparing to grow his culinary empire with the opening of Zaytinya, one of the most favoured Mediterranean restaurants, in Culver City, California. The new outpost will be inside the Shay hotel, a five-star facility in the large Ivy Station development.

Zaytinya is a restaurant that has built a reputation in the market for its sumptuous Greek, Turkish, and Lebanese food. With approximately 930 square meters of dining space, Zaytinya will offer both indoor and outdoor seating. The design is supposed to emulate the warmth of its sister properties located in Washington D.C., New York City, and South Beach, featuring bronze metals and white oak with blue accents, which evoke the spirit of the Eastern Mediterranean.

Culinary enthusiasts can look forward to a menu rich in Zaytinya’s signature dishes—crispy Brussels sprouts, grilled octopus, and a shareable kebab platter. Besides these, the wood-fired oven Etta had left behind would be used by the restaurant to create unique and new plates that will turn out in form catered to Los Angeles taste buds.

With José Andrés arriving in Culver City comes one of the biggest boosts this already very lively dining scene will experience. Known for his dedication to the finer things and eclecticism in his cuisine, this culinary maestro will no doubt establish Zaytinya as the place that locals and tourists have to visit.
