Ghanaian-British chef Akwasi Brenya-Mensa has launched a funding campaign to finance new pan-African restaurant Tatale and other African culinary projects. The chef’s new restaurant Tatale will open on July 14 in London’s Southbank.

“For too long, African cuisines in the UK and elsewhere have been sidelined. They haven’t been offered the space in the public sphere that they deserve. I want to change that,” Brenya-Mensa said in a statement on the funding campaign.
