Operated as a restaurant with a hotel since 1986, Plas Bodegroes, the first Michelin starred restaurant of Wales in United Kingdom, closes permanently.
With its 18th century building and the Michelin star it received between the years of 1991 and 2008, Wales’ first Michelin starred restaurant was put up for auction at £ 1.5 million to be used as a dwelling house in 2015 but was not bought. The sale of Plas Bodegroes was announced on the website of the restaurant with the message “We would like to thank all of our staff, and guests from near and far who have enjoyed our hospitality over the years and made Plas Bodegroes such a unique experience.”
