Known for his sensational creation “cronut”, famous French-American chef Dominique Ansel announced that he will open a new Dang Wen Li pop-up bakery in the IFC Mall in Hong Kong.
Starting as the executive pastry chef of New York’s two Michelin-starred French restaurant Daniel, Dominique Ansel later opened his own bakery and made a name for himself with original creations such as the “cronut”. Continuing his rise, Ansel was crowned World’s Best Pastry Chef in 2017 by World’s 50 Best after opening his New York, London and Hong Kong venues. In 2020, Dominique Ansel had to close some of his bakeries permanently due to COVID-19 restrictions and its effects on the hospitality sector, but now, he is opening a pop-up version of his Hong Kong bakery Dang Wen Li in the IFC Mall.
The Dang Wen Li pop-up store is expected to open mid-december and will be there for the next 6 months.
