Eduard Xatruch, who was born in Vila-seca (Tarragona) in 1981 and became interested in cooking at a young age, went to elBulli for a three-month work experience at the age of 17 and never left there. After elBulli closed, Xatruch continued to work on the conceptualization of Bullipedia with Ferran Adrià and opened the restaurant Compartir in Cadaqués with Bullina chefs Mateu Casañas Puignau and Oriol Castro.
With them, Eduard opened Disfrutar in Barcelona in 2014, earning 3 Michelin stars. Disfrutar was also voted Best Restaurant in Europe No.2 in the world by The World’s 50 Best Restaurants. It continues to maintain the 3 Repsol Suns awarded by Repsol Guide for 7 years in a row. They were also selected as ‘Best Foreign Chefs’ in the Italian guide Identità Golose.
