Del Posto, the luxury Italian restaurant, opened in 2005 and co-owned by Chef Mario Batali, is permanently closing its doors. The restaurant in New York City has been closed since March 2020 due to the epidemic.

Italian restaurant Del Posto, owned by Chef Mario Batali and Joe Bastianich, was bought by Melissa J. Rodriguez and chef James Kent Katz. Katz said in a statement that the restaurant will be Rodriguez’s restaurant. The Del Posto area is planned to be renovated to create three new concepts: a cocktail bar, a cozy setting with wood-fired pizza ovens, and a quality Italian restaurant similar to the original Del Posto.
