Blue Hill at Stone Barn, the two-star Michelin restaurant run by chef Dan Barber in New York’s Hudson Valley, has reopened after being closed for almost two years due to the pandemic.
Blue Hill at Stone Barn reopened with full staff in late September. Barber said there were no problems finding workers, unlike other restaurants that face labor issues. “We have a great team that is passionate about what we believe in and are excited to craft around some of the key food issues that are coming to the fore during this pandemic,” Barber said. “It’s a great time at Blue Hill because now we have a sharp purpose and that’s exciting.” The successful chef also said, “I hope the employees of our restaurant find a platform to carry with them. Most of our cooks either become sous chefs or engage in a food-related activity when they go. It’s the best way to spread the message. “Hopefully we can give them the tools they need to be successful when they leave Blue Hill.”
