London’s luxury restaurant chain M Restaurants and steakhouse chain Gaucho have launched a charity campaign to reduce food waste and support the homeless of London in collaboration with Only A Pavement Away and City Harvest.
“We are delighted to work with our partners to minimize our food wastage and more importantly to help those in need of support at this time of year. Sadly many in hospitality are amongst those on the streets, so it is a poignant gesture, which we encourage other restaurants to follow” said Martin Williams, CEO of Gaucho and M.
Following the closure of restaurants and kitchens in London due to COVID-19 restrictions, Gaucho and M Restaurants will open their doors to charity organizations in hopes of serving quality food and providing a warm environment to 100 people a day until December 31st. Any extra foods accumulated during this period will be utilized by other organizations also helping the city residents.
