The Argentine chef Mauro Colagreco, winner of The 2019 World’s 50 Best Restaurants, was named the best chef of the year by his colleagues in France at the Le Chef Trophies event. He received 6,000 votes at the event in Paris on 23 September, which corresponds to 90% of the chefs in France.

Argentine chef Mauro Colagreco made a statement after the award he received: “My food has different colors and textures and we are brave about it, and we get the most inspiration from the sea.”

In the event, the pastry chef of the year, sommelier of the year, the service award of the year and the highlights of the year awards were given to their owners.

Pastry Chef of the Year: Maxime Frédéric, George V ***, Paris

Sommelier of the Year: Jean-Baptiste Klein, Olivier Nasti Painting **, Kaysersberg

Service Award of the Year: Claire Bâcle, Anne of Brittany **, La Plaine-sur-Mer

Highlights of the Year: Coline Faulquier, Christopher Hache, Fabrice Idiart – Alotz, Xavier Pincemin, Sylvain Sendra, Thibaut Spiwack

Hope of the Year: Alexandre Clochet – Plaisance Masasında ** – Aziz Emilion
