Presentations have begun for the Hawker Center, designed by Anthony Bourdain and Singapore street food champion KF Seetoh. The venue, which will be located as a sales area in New York, is scheduled to open in early 2022.
The project, which was stopped for a while due to rental problems in 2017, was brought back to life this year. Saying that Anthony Bourdain asked him to help build his New York market in 2013, Seetoh said, “Waited eight years for this. This is our hawkers’ Noah’s Ark headed for Times Square, New York, and onward to the world.” In the project where successful examples of Singapore Street delicacies will be presented, guests will be able to enjoy Street food such as chili crab, oyster omelette, and nasi lemak.
