Quique Dacosta’s first restaurant outside his native Spain, Arros QD, will open in London on the 7th of June. As you might guess from the name, It is dedicated to all things rice and more.
Dacosta has always had a fascination with rice, in fact his treatise on the subject Arroces Contemporáneos was published in 2005 and he is recognised as an expert on the ingredient.
His dedication to culinary creativity and excellence has earned his eponymous restaiurant in Alicante three Michelin stars since 2013. He is global creative force in global gastronomy and Londoners are now getting the chance to enjoy his unique take on Spanish staples and other more original creations at Arros QD.
Opening on Fitzrovia’s 64 Eastcastle Street on June 7th, Arros QD will highlight the chef’s passion for rice as well as local and seasonal ingredients, it promises to be quite the fine dining experience.
Londoners will have the chance to choose form a menu which includes a setion devoted to rice with dishes such as Paella Valenciana, a traditional take on the dish that includes Rabbit chop, chicken and butter beans. More contemporary rice dishes, highlighting premium and seasonal UK ingredients, will include “chapas” such as Smoked Welsh Duck breast, morel, black trompettes and porcini aioli. All the rice dishes will be designed to share, evoking a sense of familial ritual, comfort and tradition that Quique credits to rice dishes from around the world.
