Tom Aikens is one of the UK’s most admired and inspiring British chefs. Tom, who learned to benefit from the freshest ingredients and put food at the center of his life from a very young age, started his interest in French cuisine when he spent most of his holidays in France.
He started his career at the Michelin-starred Cavalier’s in Battersea, London. He then moved to The Capital Hotel, working for Philip Britten, and then took the position of chef de partie with Pierre Koffmann at La Tante Claire, where the restaurant was awarded its third Michelin star. Tom later worked for Joel Robuchon in Paris, Gérard Boyer in Reims and Pied-à-Terre. At Pied-à-Terre, Tom became the youngest British chef to be awarded two Michelin stars at the age of 26.
In 2009 he opened his own highly successful restaurant, Tom Aikens, which bears his name, earning a Michelin star and rising to 2 stars. Later, Aikens opened his flagship restaurant, Muse, in the heart of Belgravia, a cozy renovated mews house that seats 25 people.
Muse offers a unique and intimate dining journey, offering every guest a kitchen table experience from the kitchen counter or tableside. Seasonal and simple tasting menus are created at Muse, which provides a magical and unforgettable atmosphere for everyone who dine here.
Muse, which could only stay open for 7 months in 2020 due to the pandemic, nevertheless earned its first Michelin star in 2021. It has won numerous awards, including The Hardens London Restaurant Award for “Best Gastronomic Experience” in September 2021, as well as London’s “Best Restaurant Design” at the Restaurant & Bar Design Awards in October 2021.
