Announcing the star-received restaurants of 2022 at the gala held in Valencia, the Michelin Guide presented the first Michelin stars to 33 restaurants in Spain and Portugal. 4 restaurants got their second stars. The winner of the Michelin Young Chef Award is Mario Cachinero, the 25-year-old chef of Skina, while this year’s Michelin Mentor Chef Award was given to Martin Berasetegui, who has inspired many talented chefs with his nearly 50-year successful career.

Spain and Portugal, which increased the number of starred restaurants to 262 compared to last year, prove their claim in the world of gastronomy. This year, the Michelin Guide presented 33 restaurants with their first Michelin stars, increasing the number to 211. Of these, 184 are located in Spain, 26 in Portugal, and one in Andorra. 8 new names were added to the restaurants that received the Michelin Green Star.

The Michelin Guide presented the Michelin Young Chef Award to Mario Cachinero, the 25-year-old chef of the two-Michelin-starred Skina. Moreover, Martin Berasategui received the Michelin Chef  Mentor Award for his contributions to many talented chefs, to whom he instilled his culinary understanding, business references, and passion for the profession.
