French pastry chef Cedric Grolet is set to open his first patisserie outside of France in early 2022. The patisserie, which will open at the Berkeley Hotel in London, will have an open kitchen concept where guests can watch the chefs at work.
Grolet, who is the executive pastry chef at Le Meurice Hotel that is home to Alain Ducasse’s two-Michelin-starred restaurant in Paris, is highly appreciated for his realistic fruit desserts filled with melted ganache and delicate floral-patterned cakes. Cedric Grolet is now preparing to bring these popular flavors to London. Grolet’s fruit and flower creations as well as pastries, appetizers, and new designs will be presented to the guests in his eponymous patisserie, which will be located at the Berkeley Hotel.
Cedric Grolet shared his excitement at the opening of his first patisserie in London and said, “Opening in London is a monumental event for me. It’s the first time we will be outside of France, and London – particularly Berkeley with its forward-thinking attitude – was the obvious choice. It is such a special city and its energy completely inspires me. I can’t wait to open early next year and share with the capital the result of mixing my two universes for the very first time.” Berkeley is also home to chef Marcus Wareing’s Michelin-starred restaurant Marcus.
