With the support of the Madrid City Council and the Community of Madrid, the sixth of the Best Chef Awards, to be held from 18 to 20 September, brings together world cuisine in the Spanish capital.
The event that reinforces Madrid as one of the gastronomic centers; It will take place at the Casino de Madrid, Teatro Goya, Palacio de Cibeles and Community Headquarters of Madrid.
During the three-day events, there will be an impressive meeting with cooks and journalists from more than 30 different nationalities.
In the program that will start with the event in the Area Talks section of Casino de Madrid on Sunday, September 18; Diego Guerrero, Fatmata Binta, Alena Solodovichenko, Rafael Tonon and Geeta Bansal will be present with their speeches. In addition, Alex Atala, Eric Vildgaard, Leonor Espinoza, Alexandra Forbes and Dabiz Munoz will accompany with their speeches.
When the second day comes, professionals and amateurs; Under the name of Food Meets Science, another education section of The Best Chef, they will come together in interviews with the host of Goya Theatre. Then, Eduard Xatruch will continue the event presenting Distfrutar’s avant-garde techniques. Shai Hayman will then present the story of NEW-MEAT to the guests.
With the pizza of Franco Pepe, winner of the Best Chef Pizza Award 2021, supported by Molini Pizzuti, guests will have the opportunity to explore the balance between innovation and tradition. Just before lunch, the concept of food waste will be rethought with John Feeney and Putsey with the Jockeys, and ideas for advancing in the field of sustainability will be included.
After the break, the stands will be enveloped by the aroma of coffee, with the speech of Darrin Daniel, general manager of the Cup of Excellence. While the coffees are sipped, Andoni Luis Aduriz will take the stage and give a speech that will make us think about what and how we will eat in the future. Next, Hektor Monroy with Foodpairing will show us how to discover the most amazing food peeling combinations. Japanese Natsuko Shoji will appear before the guests with his speech titled “Été, the footprint of summer, mango tarte and caviar millefeuille”.
Massimo Bottura and Jessica Rosval will then deliver a talk titled “The Power of Food”. Afterwards, Valentin Platter, Jürgen Graf and Martin Buchholtz will focus on the evolution of wine. Finally, Antonio Bachour, winner of the 2018 Best Chef Pastry Awards sponsored by Valrhona, is scheduled to enter the pastry scene.
The main course will take place on Tuesday, September 20, when the Palacio de Cibeles, headquarters of the Madrid City Council, will host the long-awaited and eye-catching gala at the Crystal Gallery, and will find its winner of the best chef in the world.
During these 3 days, Madrid will have the opportunity to introduce its unique features, history, architecture and culture to the whole world.
