Michelin’s latest monthly update is featured in its 2023 Guide to Great Britain and Ireland, while six more restaurants have been added to the list, including Nuno Mendes’ Lisboeta in London.
Portuguese restaurant Lisboeta, opened this spring in collaboration with Mendes and MJMK Restaurants, is described by Mendes as a “love letter to Lisbon”.
Other recently added restaurants include; Blaise Inn in Bristol, run by former Harvey Nichols executive chef Louise McCrimmon and her husband Ian, family-run Edie’s in St Austell, the rural Shibden Mill Inn in Halifax and Bull’s Head in Craswall, Hereford.
The Michelin Guide, which praises Dublin’s Orwell Road restaurant for its friendly service and salted caramel custard tart, is the only new name from Ireland to make the list.
Michelin, which has made new additions to its lists every month since last summer, highlights the restaurants it has added to its list by highlighting it with a ‘new’ symbol on its website and applications. Whether any of the restaurants on the list will also receive a star, Bib Gourmand or Green Star sustainability award remains a mystery until next year’s ceremony.
