Michelin-starred chef Dani García returns to New York with Casa Dani after a 7-year hiatus. The restaurant, which will open in Midtown West on December 14, will offer examples of Spanish and Mediterranean cuisine.

Dani García, one of the popular names of Spanish cuisine with 11 restaurants and signature flavors, is counting the days for the opening of his new restaurant, Casa Dani. The open kitchen concept restaurant has an area of 3,700 square meters and has 160-seat mezzanine dining and an 11-seat bar with a lounge area. Contrary to the avant-garde dishes that earned him Michelin stars in Spain, García is preparing to serve Mediterranean cuisine in New York. “The inspiration comes from my youth and the traditions of my country. The restaurant’s name indicates this,” said Dani García, and his menu features the classic dishes of Southern Spain and seafood. Adding tapas to the menu, García says that they bring tuna, olive oil, and many other special products from Spain.

García, who opened the highly anticipated Spanish bar Manzanilla in 2013, has to close the venue a year later. After a 7-year hiatus, García is now back in New York with two concepts. Alongside Casa Dani, García has recently introduced his chicken restaurant, El Pollo Verde, to New Yorkers.
