The San Sebastian International Film Festival (SSIFF) returns for its 69th edition with a feast of food films to enjoy from 20 – 24 September 2021. Culinary Zinema includes five feature films, with four having their world premiere and an emphasis on famous chefs and restaurants.
Opening the festival is Las huellas de elBulli, a film about Ferran Adrià’s world-famous restaurant, which closed a decade ago. Then there’s Reinventing Mirazur, in which chef Mauro Colagreco re-imagines his French Riviera restaurant post lockdown, followed by a fascinating visit to KOKS restaurant in the Faroe Islands in Michelin Stars II: Nordic By Nature, and The Pursuit of Perfection, a documentary focusing on four leading Japanese chefs.
