Famous Italian fashion brand Gucci has announced that they have plans to bring the Gucci Osteria restaurant concept, created with Michelin-starred chef Massimo Bottura, to Tokyo at the end of the year. While the exact date has not yet been announced, the restaurant is said to open on April 29, on the upper floor of the Gucci Namiki store in Tokyo’s Tony Ginza district.
The menu will be created by Bottura and Karime Lòpez, head chef of Gucci Osteria in Florence. The company said that the diverse and unique identity of the local will be reflected on the plates.
Gucci Osteria Tokyo won’t be the first time the concept has touched down in Asia. In 2019, Bottura and Lopez headed a 26-day-long pop-up at The Arts House in Singapore, where dishes on the Florentine menu were paired with one-off, Asian-inspired creations.
