Announced this week, the 2021 selection of the Michelin Guide Hong Kong and Macau awarded TATE Dining Room with two stars, making chef Vicky Lau Asia’s first two-Michelin-starred female chef.
Managing to keep her first star she won back when the restaurant first opened, Vicky Lau stated that she has been dreaming of this for 8 years. Being an advocate on women’s inclusion in gastronomy, the French-Chinese restaurant’s chef Vicky Lau is now the first Asian female chef whose own restaurant has two Michelin stars, following the success of 2015, where she was crowned Asia’s Best Female Chef. “Dreams do come true with passion, patience, blood, sweat and tears” said chef Vicky Lau.
