The longest-serving executive chef of the White House, Henry Haller, died at age 97. Born in 1923, chef took on his role in 1966.

Retired in 1987, Henry Haller served 5 different American presidents and their first families as well as hosted nearly 250 presidential banquets. He worked as the executive chef of the White House for almost 22 years followed by his work as the gastronomy consultant for liquor company Cointreau. The chef of presidents’ was reported dead last month at age 97.
