The former head chef of Le Jardin des Sens, one of France’s three-Michelin-starred restaurants, André Chiang was the talk of the town when he closed his much-loved restaurant André in Singapore. Closed its door in 2018, the restaurant was listed as one of the best restaurants in Asia many times and received two Michelin stars in Michelin Guide Singapore 2016. André & His Olive Tree is a Netflix documentary that allows you to get to know André Chiang, who has made a name for himself with “octaphilosophy” – the eight fundamental ingredients he uses in his dishes, while witnessing the last two weeks before the restaurant permanently closes.
