Plant-based food producer Meatless Farm has developed the ‘We Can Meatless Again’ initiative and digital insight platform after its research has shown that 65 per cent of British customers are nervous when they reopen to visit a restaurant, pub or bar.
Research has also shown that 60 per cent of respondents agreed that the pandemic has made them more aware of where to eat out in the future. The government’s determination, which consumers prefer more green and sustainable products, shows that consciousness has become an important theme in food. Meatless Farm has worked alongside chefs like Andrew Dargue at restaurant Vanilla Black in Holborn, London, to create the hub, which has advice from well-known chefs, digital experts and environmental health officers. Dr Peter Hynes, Meatless Farm’s head of research and development, (pictured), said: “Meatless Farm was built on the idea of collaboration and togetherness; ‘We Will Meatless Again’ is testament to this and our aim is that it offers a level of support. The innovation we are driving shows our commitment to and understanding of this sector, in addition to the wider change in consumer behaviours. We firmly believe there’s a place on all menus for next generation plant-based alternatives that can deliver on taste and texture”, The Caterer reported.
