Austria, which will reopen hotels on May 29 after suspected coronavirus infection to hundreds of tourists at a ski hotel, has announced it will regularly apply coronavirus testing to hotel employees to lure Germans and other tourists and revive the summer season.
After hundreds of tourists from Germany, Norway, Iceland and other countries caught coronavirus in a ski hotel in Austria, Austria announced that it would regularly apply coronavirus testing to all hotel employees to make them forget this incident and gain the confidence of tourists again. Austrian Chamber of Commerce Chief Harald Mahrer said 65,000 hotel workers a week will be tested from July 1st, adding that between 6,000 and 8,000 employees are currently being tested daily. Chancellor Sebastian Kurz said: “In which country in the world can you go on holiday and say the staff you come into contact with, the waiters, are tested regularly? It will be very few countries.”
