InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has announced health and hygiene measures that will be implemented from June 1st to redefine cleanliness and ensure the comfort of guests throughout their stay after the pandemic.
IHG Way of Clean programme which was launched in 2015 in partnership with Diversey and Ecolab expanded after the pandemic, to adapt coronavirus situation. To reduce contact at reception, the front-desk screen will determine the distance between the guest and the employee, in addition to applications such as contactless operation, disinfected switches and paperless check-out. There will be visible verification of sanitised items such as glassware and remote control, while the number of furniture in the room will be reduced. Public areas, especially the high-touched areas will be cleaned in detail and regularly, while social distance and hygiene will be paid attention in the areas of activity such as pools, sports centres and lounges. New service approaches will be implemented in banking, buffet and room services areas by bringing new standards. IHG, which secures this process in the first step with the training and certificates of employees, aims to reach the maximum level in hygiene with many additional services such as disinfectants, cleaning information and social distance procedures it puts at every point.
